ENDOMETRIOSIS
Endometrium is a tissue that lines the uterus and swells with blood in preparation for egg implantation or a period. Endometriosis is a condition when tissue similar to this grows outside the womb on other organs in the pelvic cavity. When a woman with endometriosis has her period these growths also shed blood, causing pain, bloating, inflammation, internal scarring and reduced or compromised fertility.
